PNCEA
Paulist National Catholic Evangelization Association
An Apostolic Arm of the Paulist Fathers
Reaching the Unreached in Faith
PNCEA is a Paulist ministry for evangelization where I've begun to work formally as President (starting January, 2009). I have worked with this ministry before so, in a sense, my new involvement is a continuation of this past experience.
Begun in 1977 by Fr. Alvin Illig, CSP, PNCEA has played a dramatic role in the Catholic evangelization movement in the United States and beyond.
PNCEA tries to equip Catholics for evangelization. It has an array of programs--Prison Ministry (with newsletters and materials for Catholics in prison), On-line training and conferences, Disciples in Mission, Envision (for parish planning and organization), Best Practices (an on-line resource for 7 areas of parish reflection and planning) and Awakening Faith.
Our first clientele are those seeking for faith or those not active in their faith. We then try to stimulate Catholics, by developing appropriate tools, to reach out to these people. We support parishes and dioceses with resources to further the ministry of evangelization.
We love hearing new ideas about how to spread the Catholic faith and invite people to experience, or re-experience, the Catholic way of life.
