"REACHING THE UNREACHED IN FAITH"

PAULIST EVANGELIZATION MINISTRIES is the new name of the Paulist office for evangelization.  Formerly it was PNCEA, or Paulist National Catholic Evangelization Association.

The ministry began in 1977 under the charismatic evangelizer, Fr. Alvin Illig, CSP, who developed many initiatives for Catholic evangelization, notably through teaching, satellite use, mail, newspapers and other outreach strategies.

Fr. Kenneth Boyack, CSP, became president after Fr. Illig's death in 1991.  Under his auspices the ministry worked extsively with the US Catholic Bishops' Committe on Evangelization and developed "Disciples in Mission" as a widely-used national parish renewal program.  It also innovated the use of the Internet to train and present courses.

Fr. Frank DeSiano, CSP, became president of the organization as it initiated programs for inactive Catholics (Awakening Faith) and inquirers about Catholicism (Seeking Christ).

The mission of Paulist Evangelization Ministries is to develop user-friendly, accessible tools for Catholics and parishes to use to reach out to those who "are not there.
